The Deputy Spokesperson for John Mahama’s campaign, Beatrice Annan Esq., has alleged that Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), demonstrates bias by seeking advice from individuals within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the elections.
On her appearance on Good Morning Ghana on Metro, Annan claimed, “We may not say everything on TV, but we know the NPP figures she consults for legal advice and direction on her actions.
Even before this application was filed, we were aware it was coming.”
She accused Jean Mensa of aligning with partisan interests, pointing out that the EC Chair and her spokespersons are NPP communicators.
She also compared Mensa’s tenure to that of her predecessor, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan , suggesting that the EC under their leadership handled electoral matters with greater fairness.
“At the time of Afari-Gyan, there was no CI127, but even then, any recaliation would not have been skewed to favor one political party.
That is not how Afari-Gyan managed the Commission,” she stated.
