John Mahama the president-elect has articulated his deep enthusiasm about farming.
According to John Mahama. If he had not gone into politics, he would have been a full-time farmer.
He alluded that farming is his life and plans to go into full-time farming once he retires.
John Mahama speaking during a visit to his farm in Yapei and Busunu in the Savannah region, he revealed, “Farming is my life. I love it, and I’m sure if I didn’t go into politics, I would have been a full-time farmer”.
“In any case, when I retire, after this stint, of course, I’m going to go into full-time farming. If you want to see me, you’ll have to come to the farm”, he added.
John Mahama further detailed his growing livestock production and plans to expand to sheep and cattle farming.
He added, “We started with 300 goats and other small ruminants, and now we’ve grown to almost 500, with another 200 animals added recently. It’s looking positive”.
“This is not just a business; it’s a way of life for me. It’s therapeutic and fulfilling to work on the farm,” Mahama further revealed.
Meanwhile, John Mahama has revealed his plans to rename the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to the Ministry of Food and Agribusiness.
