ACP Benjamin Agordzo has said If Dampare stays in office beyond 7 January, some police officers will mobilize to drive him out of office.
According to the former Assistant Commissioner of Police, John Mahama the president-elect must not allow IGP Dampare to stay in office beyond the 7th January 2025.
Speaking on TV3, ACP Agordzo detailed, “Dampare should not stay there beyond the 7th of January if the president-elect and the NDC make the mistake of keeping him there if they don’t take time, people will mobilize and drive him away from office”.
“I am telling you some police officers will mobilize and drive him away from the office mark my words. If Dampare stays in office beyond 7 January and the president does not appoint somebody in an acting capacity pending the formation of the Council of State”.
He further emphasized, “If the president does not remove this man by 7th or 8th I can tell you that police personnel will lock his door. I am saying it to the authorities.
“He has beautified the Police Headquarters, but we expect the beautification of the Police Headquarters to reflect on the welfare of the personnel”, ACP Agordzo stated.
