The Head of Corporate Communications at Ghana Gas, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has strongly denied any involvement in corrupt activities at the company.
In an interview with Oyerepa TV, Owusu Bempah firmly stated, “I never engaged in any corruption activities at Ghana Gas. I never took per diem and rejected the use of a government official vehicle. I am not corrupt and will never be corrupt.”
His remarks come in response to a committee established by President-elect John Mahama, chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, called Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).
This broader strategy aims to enforce strict accountability measures and restore public trust in the public sector.
The ORAL team includes prominent figures such as former Auditor-General Daniel Domelovo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
Owusu Bempah emphasized that, as the Head of Corporate Communications, he has worked to promote transparency and accountability within Ghana Gas.
He highlighted his commitment to integrity, noting his decision to forgo both a government official vehicle and per diem privileges typically offered to high-ranking officials.
Ghana Gas has recently been embroiled in controversy, with allegations of corruption surrounding a questionable contract.
