Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, the founder and president of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, has revealed that some pastors in Ghana refrain from speaking against LGBTQ+ issues out of fear that it might jeopardize their chances of obtaining American or British visas.
Speaking in an interview on GHone, Rev. Tetteh criticized religious leaders who compromise their stance for personal gain.
“I know pastors who could not speak against these matters because they were scared they wouldn’t get a visa,” he stated.
Rev. Tetteh shared that he does not rely on political alignments or external favors.
“I’m not looking for a visa; I’m a UK resident. God has blessed me with what I need, so I can speak my mind freely,” he added.
He further expressed disappointment that some seasoned men of God, whose voices could have made a significant impact, chose silence. Rev. Tetteh urged leaders to prioritize integrity and stand firm on issues that affect the moral fabric of society.
