The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has appealed to special voters to vote for him in the special voting tomorrow.
In a message to the security services and the media, as they vote tomorrow, December 2, he noted that the NPP inherited a security sector facing numerous challenges, from internal disputes to a stretched-thin workforce that needed a comprehensive reform
According to Dr. Bawumia, they have significantly bolstered the ranks across all the security agencies.
Speaking to the media and security services voting tomorrow he stated, “We inherited a security sector facing numerous challenges, from internal disputes to a stretched thin workforce. The need for comprehensive reform was clear. We have significantly bolstered the ranks across our security agencies. The Ghana Police Service now boasts over 46,000 officers, almost 13,000 more than we inherited. The fire service personnel count has doubled to 15,000.
“Our prison service and immigration service have seen similar growth in numbers. We have massively upgraded your tools and infrastructure. Over 900 vehicles and three helicopters have been added to the police service, and state-of-the-art surveillance systems, including over 11,000 cameras, have been deployed across the country. We have also improved living conditions with new barracks and housing units for personnel”, he added.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia added, “I humbly ask for your support to continue the good work we have begun. When you go to the voting booth vote for me Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. I am number one on the ballot encourage your colleagues and fellow security and media personnel to do this let’s keep moving forward together it is possible”, he added.
