US based Ghanaian social commentator, Kevin Taylor has mocked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following their defeat at the December 7, 2024 polls.
Kevin Taylor took to his official X page to rub salt into the injury of the NPP which is still relieving in an overwhelming defeat at the elections.
“Today I will let the truth out I am actually Nigerian but I love Ghana because 3Y3 ZU,” his post read.
His post goes to imply he had a hard time loving the nation Ghana when it was under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President John Dramani Mahama.
The Electoral Commission of Ghana officially declared the results of the 2024 presidential election, announcing John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as President-elect on Monday, December 9, 2024.
According to the Chairperson of the Commission, Madam Jane Mensah, results from 267 out of 276 constituencies showed that Mahama secured 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes cast.
His closest contender, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61% out of 11, 430, 531 vote casts
The announcement follows days of tension and anticipation as Ghanaians waited for the final verdict and after Dr. Bawumia conceded defeat. The total voter turnout was reported at 60.9%, with 11, 430, 531 valid votes cast out of the 18, 774, 159 registered voters.
