The former President of Ghana and the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress John Mahama has said he is a retired army general ready to rescue Ghana from current difficulties.
According to John Mahama, when a country’s soldiers go to war and they encounter difficulties, they go back to call their retired generals to come back and lead them.
Speaking to district and municipal Imams in the Ashanti Region on Monday, December 2, 2024, during his six-day campaign tour, Mahama stated, “If we go to war, and we encounter difficulties, we go back to call the retired general to come back and lead us”.
“This is a clear illustration of myself because I am a retired general and I went to rest, but it is time to come back because we are in a difficult period, so my party has nominated me to lead the party. I know that many of you pray for us and give us guidelines to follow. I thank every one of you for your prayers”, he added.
John Mahama also pledged to the Islamic community saying, “There are a lot of things that we intend to do, Chief Imam has said that a law that legitimizes Islamic marriage must be enacted, so we have decided to do that”.
Meanwhile, Political parties across Ghana are delivering their final campaign messages as Ghanaians go to the polls in just 4 days to decide their next president and their members of parliament for the next four years.
