Special aide to President-elect John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari says the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia only chose to concede defeat in the December 7, 2024 polls because he could not bear to be disgraced further.
According to her, Dr. Bawumia conceded defeat to president-elect, John Dramani Mahama because he had no option. “The disgrace was utterly phenomenal. (he conceded defeat) to put off the embarrassment (and) the shame. What was it he was going to wait for? An hour of disgrace, two hours 3 hours?”
She intimated that Dr. Bawumia new he had lost the elections and had done so woefully, with no other option than to concede defeat.
Joyce Bawa Mogtari insists if Dr. Bawumia had delayed his concession, his percentage in votes could have dropped further.
“In fact if he had waited, the other nine would be counted and he would probably will drop below 41 percent. Better a 41 percent that is a failure than to wait and have a 38percent. So, which one would you rather have? Stop it before the tide completely turns against you,” she added.
