Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has dismissed as false a circulating message that claims she is giving ¢1,800 in cash and sewing machines to security officers to influence their votes.
The message, which has spread through text and social media, suggests that Hawa Koomson is distributing the money and items to both the residents of Kasoa and security personnel in an attempt to sway their votes in her favor.
Speaking out on the matter, Hawa Koomson labeled the message as pure propaganda, urging Ghanaians to ignore it.
“The message is fake, and I want to assure the public that I am not involved in any such activities,” she said.
She further suggested that the misinformation was likely being spread by her political opponents to tarnish her reputation.
Special voting kicks off in the Awutu Senya East Constituency with 1,298 voters, both Hawa Koomson and her opponent, NDC Parliamentary Candidate Philis Naa Koryoo, are serving as polling agents.
In an interview, Hawa Koomson reiterated her commitment to ensuring peaceful elections in Kasoa, stressing the importance of a fair and orderly voting process.
