The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has categorically dismissed recent allegations of its involvement in the auctioning of vehicles.
In a statement dated December 11, the GRA labeled these reports as “false” and reaffirmed its commitment to following established procedures for vehicle and goods auctions conducted by its Customs Division.
The GRA also warned the public to be vigilant against fraudulent activities, advising them to avoid making payments to unauthorized individuals or entities mentioned in the false claims circulating in the media.
The authority underscored its dedication to transparency and encouraged citizens to rely solely on official announcements for accurate information about its operations.
The National Democratic Congress’s (NDC), Dade Kotopon constituency secretary, Dzifa Gunu, raised an alarm over the auctioning of cars by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
According to him, this move by the GRA boss is an attempt to make some quick cash before the National Democratic Congress takes over the reign of government affairs on December 7, 2025.
Sharing a press release signed by the Commissioner-General of the GRA on Facebook, Dzifa Gunu wrote, “This is criminal. Someone should tell her to stop this nonsense.”
The press release titled “Notice of Vehicle Auction by the Ghana Revenue Authority” contained a press alert on the auctioning of listed cars at one of the part sites in Accra on December 28, 2024.
