Majority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of hypocrisy, double standards, and mischief, predicting that Ghanaians will soon see the truth behind the opposition party’s actions.
Afenyo-Markin made the comments in an interview with PM Express on JoyFm the current state of affairs within the NDC, highlighting the party’s internal struggles and leadership battles.
According to Afenyo-Markin, some members of the NDC, whom he referred to as “redundant MPs,” will not be able to return to their constituencies, suggesting that their political careers are at risk.
“These MPs will not be able to go back to their people, and that’s where their problems will start,” he stated.
He further added that, in line with constitutional provisions, President Mahama’s term is limited to four years, implying that his ambitions for a second term would be constrained.
“They’ve already started their campaign as to who becomes [the next leader],” he said, while choosing not to name specific individuals involved in the struggle.
The Majority Leader expressed confidence that time would reveal the true nature of the NDC’s actions and that Ghanaians would soon witness the hypocrisy and mischief that have been at play.
“Ghanaians will soon see the hypocrisy, double standards and mischief of the NDC.”
