Abena Osei Asare, the Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, has spoken in the wake of the NPP’s massive loss to the NDC in the just-ended 2024 elections.
According to the Deputy Finance Minister, Ghanaians were disappointed with the NPP and expressed it through their vote in the December polls.
She was speaking during a thank-you tour in her constituency in the Eastern Region when she admitted the voter’s frustration with the NPP government.
She stated, “Ghanaians were disappointed with us and expressed it through their votes, But I’m deeply grateful for the goodwill and support I continue to receive from my constituents”.
Abena Osei Asare further stated the NPP loss is an opportunity for introspection.
“The NPP has faced challenges before, and I’m confident we will recover and come back stronger”, she added.
The NPP lost the 2024 elections in an embarrassing faction with their flagbearer conceding defeat early, and the NPP MPs losing the majority of their seats in parliament to the NDC.
Many Ghanaians have attributed the NPP’s defeat to the public displeasure of the economic challenges facing many Ghanaians with the NPP government growing arrogant to the plight of Ghanaians.
