A disappointed supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed deep concern over what she perceives as the nation’s short memory, especially in light of past leadership failures.
In A video currently trending on X has quickly gained attention, the supporter criticized Ghanaians for seemingly overlooking the nation’s struggles during the previous administration, including prolonged power outages and allegations of misuse of state funds.
“Ghanaians have short memories like a 1GB memory card,” the concerned NPP supporter wrote, expressing disbelief at how many voters still cast their ballots for the former president, despite the challenges faced during his time in office.
The post specifically referenced the dark days of Dumsor the frequent and prolonged power outages that lasted for up to 24 hours at a time, affecting businesses, schools, and households across the country.
The outages were a defining issue during the former president’s tenure, and the supporter raised concerns that the lessons from this painful period were quickly forgotten.
“At a time when he should have been using our taxes to fix the energy crisis, he was buying properties for his slay queens,” the supporter remarked, emphasizing the perceived betrayal of the public’s trust.
“Upon the 24-hour Dumsor and Mahama using our taxes to buy properties for his mistresses, Ghanaians still voted for him,”.
“I’m scared Dumsor is coming back,” she confessed, echoing concerns that the nation is on the brink of repeating past mistakes.
