The Ghana Police Service has commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and their supporters for peaceful final rallies.

The Police service praised the two largest parties in Ghana for their cooperation before and during the event which led to the peaceful and successful conclusion of their final rallies in Accra yesterday, 5th December 2024.

The final campaign rally of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was held at Legon, while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held theirs at Zurak Park in Madina, Accra.

Parts of the Police statement read, “The Police also express gratitude to the general public, particularly the motoring public, for their cooperation, patience, and understanding during the road diversions and blockages implemented to manage traffic for the two special events”.

“Furthermore, the leadership of the Police Administration acknowledges and appreciates the dedication and professionalism of all officers deployed to maintain law, order, peace and security during these special events”, the statement added.

The Police statement added, “Additionally, as the nation approaches the elections, tomorrow, 7th December 2024, we urge the political parties, their supporters, and all stakeholders to maintain the same level of discipline, unity, and patriotism for our beloved Country Ghana for a peaceful election”.

The Ghana Police Service further reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a peaceful, safe, and orderly election, tomorrow, 7th December 2024.
