John Mahama the President-elect is expected to make some appointments within 24 hours.
The information gathered suggests John Mahama must appoint his representatives to the Transition Team for the transfer of power within 24 hours.
Under the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), the President-elect shall, within 24 hours after the declaration of the presidential election results. John Mahama in his acceptance speech yesterday revealed to Ghanaians that President Akufo-Addo has invited him for a meeting at the Jubilee House on Wednesday 11 December 2024 to initiate the transition process.
The transition team will be responsible for the smooth transfer of power, providing the John Mahama daily security briefing before his swearing-in on January 7, 2025, and working on the payment of retirement benefits for Article 71 officeholders who have come to the end of their tenure.
