A Ghanaian businessman has lamented about the people supporting the NPP government’s free SHS policy as his business is collapsing due to the government’s neglect of businessmen but focus on paying the fees of Free education.
According to the businessman the Free SHS has come to the detriment of Ghanaian businesses, with businessmen and women being burdened with huge taxes to pay.
The business further asserted that those who support the Free SHS policy do not even think about the businessmen or women who will be employing their children after school, all they think about is their child went to Free SHS while their businesses are collapsing due to the high cost of charges at the port and high taxes by the government.
Speaking in a self-recorded video, the businessman stated, “My child has gone for free education, free education, have you seen? You are just thinking about yourselves because your child had gone to Free education so we should all suffer, people’s father work should collapse, people’s bonds that they bought have been locked, those working at the bank have been laid off, today if you bring in goods you cannot even pay for the port charges”.
“Businesses are collapsing, and that is what controls the country, but that is not your case. Free education, free education because of that everyone should suffer, have you seen you are not good?”, he added.
The businessman further reiterated, “If your child goes to school and comes back home, you ask him or her to go and look for a job, right? It is me that will give him work; the government is collapsing my business with taxes have you thought about me? After graduation from school, we don’t eat it, it is used to work, the jobs also it is someone who must open it, the one opening the businesses the government is destroying their businesses with taxes do you understand”.
“Free education is not bothered about it, but the fact that they have categorized it as for the poor people’s children I don’t like it, I don’t care if Mahama will continue or not, free things do not stay forever, and it is not quality because it is free”, he emphasized boldly.
The Businessman noted that the government has failed to create jobs for the people and the businessmen who create the jobs, are being overlooked and overburdened with taxes which are used the free education after school your child will come and look for a job.
