President-elect, John Dramani Mahama has set up a five-member team to spearheaded the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Operation Recover All Loot (O.R.A.L).
O.R.A.L is an operation aimed at recovering all stolen assets and assets gained through corrupt means from government appointees and all individuals linked to the outgoing Akufo-Addo administration.
The five-member team is made up of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who serves as its chairman, Daniel Domelevo-former Auditor-General, COP (Rtd) Nathan Kofi Boakye, Martin Kpebu-a private legal practitioner and Raymond Archer an investigative journalist.
Today, we put the spotlight on Raymond Archer, an investigative journalist who made a name for himself during former president John Agyekum Kufour’s tenure.
He held the Kufuor administration in check, digging out chilling revelations and scandals that dented Kufuor’s legacy.
Raymond Archer, through The Enquirer newspaper, exposed high-profile corruption scandals like the Castle Kickback and the Anane Scandal, shaking the foundations of the Kufuor government.
His works during the Kufuor era was recognized as he become the first African journalist to win the World Best Journalist Award from the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and also win the 2002 Global Medal and African Prize for Excellence in Journalism.
However, his bravery came at a cost, as he reportedly faced assassination attempts, which led to him fleeing his home at one point for his safety.
The exit of the Kufuor administration also saw Raymond Archer becoming dormant, as he kept a low profile afterwards.
The journalist now ventured into a different business, the setting up of a printing press at Trade Fair, La.
His business, however, took a huge hit in recent years when his printing press was demolished with some of his equipment still in there.
The businessman and journalist alleged another businessman, McDan, played a role in the collapse of his business at Trade Fair.
However, beyond journalism & the printing press, Archer’s resume is impressive. His expertise extends far beyond investigative reporting.
He is a National Security Consultant, Intelligence Analyst & a founder of companies like Colour Planet Ltd and Focal Media per his LinkedIn.
