President Nana Akufo-Addo has been honored by ECOWAS Heads of State and Government Summit in Abuja.
At the 66th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Akufo-Addo was honored with the title “Mr. Democrat”.
The outgoing President of Ghana was praised for championing democracy in the sub-region, with the beginning of a smooth transition of power to President-elect John Mahama.
The prestigious title was conferred upon him by the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Akufo-Addo also received a standing ovation at the meeting and was also recognized for his impeccable attendance record at all ECOWAS sessions throughout his eight-year tenure as President of Ghana.
