The Ghana police have arrested an Electoral Commission official at Kintampo South Constituency in the Bono East region.
According to the Police statement, the EC official was arrested based on electoral offenses during the ongoing general elections.
The suspect identified as Dery Joseph is under investigation for issuing about 15 ballot papers to voters.
The 2024 general elections are underway across the country as Ghanaians vote to decide their next president and parliamentarian for the next four years.
In total 18 million registered voters are set to decide the nation’s next president and the structure of the 275-member Parliament.
In total, 12 candidates are vying for the presidency, with the front runners being the NPP’s Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, NDC’s John Mahama, Nana Kwame Bediako, and Alan Kyeremanten.
