The member of Parliament for Odododiodoo National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has boldly stated the Electoral Commission under Jean Mensa does not have Ghana at heart.
According to the lawmaker, Jean Mensa’s Electoral Commission is evil.
He asserted that under Jean Mensa six people died in the 2024 elections, after eight people died in the 2020 elections.
Speaking on Channel One TV, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye stated, “This EC is evil, I am sorry to say it, but they personify what the Bible says the evil intention of man is continual, from day one, this EC has portrayed a particular intention mood exhibited and shown a particular attitude that tells me they don’t have this country at heart”.
“Six people have died, in this election, in 2020 under this EC eight people died, how many people died under Justice Dzamefe when he was EC boss, and how many people died under Afari Gyan when he was EC boss? It is your actions and what you do that assume that sort of attitude reaction from others”, he added.
The lawmaker further made the comparison of Jean Mensa and the former Electoral Commission Chairpersons.
“Did you ever see Afari Gyan walking around with Soldiers, did you ever see Charlotte Osei and the EC as a target, if the EC had been that trustworthy if they had exhibited character of nationalism, patriotism, unbiased, faithfulness, assumed confidence in the public why will the EC have any fear?”, he asked.
The Electoral Commission through an Accra High Court order has re-collated the Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Nsawam Adoagyiri, and Techiman South, which were previously declared in favor of the NDC have been re-declared for the NPP.
Two constituencies left outstanding are the Ablekuma North and Dome Kwabenya.
