Hopeson Adorye, the director of Special duties of the Movement of Change has boldly stated Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his secretary will go to jail.
According to Hopeson Adorye, Ghana’s mining law states when someone takes gold abroad a percentage must be brought back to the country to develop Ghana.
He alleged that the vice president and his secretary had created a gold company and placed it under the free zone which bypassed these mineral laws.
Speaking on Onua TV, Hopeson Adorye detailed, “Do you know what the vice president has done, the vice president and his secretary will go to jail, I have not learned the law, but I know there are laws that state the gold we excavating in Ghana, if you are taking them outside a certain percentage must be given to Ghana, for it to be used to develop Ghana, and our Chiefs must also receive their royalties”.
“Some people have got wealth, and they don’t know how to spend it, so they have formed a gold company, and they have placed it under free zones”, he revealed.
The former NPP member further detailed, “The thing I am saying, the Office of the President and Vice President secretariat agreement on LOC regime enforcement for free zone companies, I am telling you they will go to jail. The secretary to the vice president has written a letter to the governor he did not copy the Chief of Staff and the president”.
“What we are picking is that some people have made wealth and they do not know how to spend it, and they do not know how to get it out of the country, they cannot put their wealth in the Bank too, so they have placed this gold company under the free zones when they take it out they don’t bring even 1 cedi back to Ghana”, he boldly emphasized.
