Deputy Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for Asunafo North Constituency, Ahafo Region, Evans Bobie Opoku, is facing criticism after allegedly ordering the removal of granite chippings from an ongoing road project following his loss in the 2024 elections.
A trending video on X shows a defeated Opoku instructing his workers to shovel the granite off the road, leaving it in a depleted state with only red sand.
Opoku, who won the Asunafo North seat in the 2020 general elections, lost his re-election bid to the National Democratic Congress’ Mohammed Haruna.
The video has sparked widespread attention, with many questioning the motivation behind the removal of materials that were part of a road development project.
Some residents have shared videos of a disturbing development, where their incumbent MP who lost in the parliamentary elections, has allegedly ordered for granite chippings to be collected off a road that was being tarred, prior to his loss. pic.twitter.com/nATPEqpg9f
