Addressing a gathering during his campaign tour in the region, Mahama highlighted the challenges Ghanaians face under the current administration, including high unemployment, worsening economic hardships, and widespread dissatisfaction with the state of the nation.

“The last eight years have been tough for many of you,” he said, urging voters to make informed choices that would help bring relief and progress to their lives.

“The rising cost of living, lack of jobs, and mismanagement of the economy have left families struggling to make ends meet.

I’m asking you to vote not out of fear or for material gain but based on the realities of your lives.”

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has urged voters in the Ashanti Region to reflect on their current living conditions as they decide who to support in the upcoming general elections.

During his campaign in the region, Mahama emphasized the pressing challenges faced by Ghanaians, including high unemployment, economic hardships, and widespread dissatisfaction with the state of the nation.

“The last eight years have been tough for many of you,” he told a gathering.

“The rising cost of living, lack of jobs, and mismanagement of the economy have left families struggling to make ends meet.

I’m asking you to vote not out of fear or for material gain but based on the realities of your lives.”

Mahama criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to address these concerns, noting that its leadership has exacerbated the hardships faced by ordinary citizens.

“This administration has failed to deliver on its promises.

They’ve neglected the cries of Ghanaians while creating a mess of the economy. It’s time for a new direction—a government that truly prioritizes your well-being,” he said.

The former president reiterated his commitment to resetting Ghana’s trajectory through what he calls a “resetting agenda.”

He promised to focus on job creation, economic revitalization, and improving the overall quality of life for citizens.

Mahama also accused his main contender of attempting to influence voters with money and other incentives.

He urged the electorate not to be swayed by these tactics, emphasizing the importance of voting for a better future.

“They are going around sharing money and gifts to buy your votes,” he stated.

“But I urge you not to fall for it. Those items won’t fix the bad roads, won’t provide jobs, and won’t lower the prices of food.

Vote them out and bring in a leadership that will listen and work for you.”

The NDC candidate concluded with an appeal for change, saying: “You deserve better, and together, we can achieve it.

Let your vote reflect your hopes and aspirations, not the temporary distractions offered by those who have failed you.”

Mahama’s campaign continues to focus on addressing grassroots concerns and presenting himself as a viable alternative to the current administration.
