The Supreme Court has canceled the re-collated results of the Electoral Commission.
The Electoral Commission re-collated results of Tema Central, Ablekuma North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central in the 2024 parliamentary elections have all been canceled by the apex court.
According to the Supreme Court, the order does not affect Ahafo Ano North and Nsawam Adoagyiri results.
The apex court asserted that the High Court judge violated the right to a hearing of the NDC Parliamentary Candidates.
The Accra High Court ordered the Electoral Commission to re-collate results for outstanding constituencies after an Accra High Court ruling on December 21, directing the EC to finalize the election results for the six constituencies.
The disputed constituencies include Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyir, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central constituencies.
The EC has so far re-collated results in seven of the nine constituencies, with Dome/Kwabenya and Ablekuma North still pending.
The NDC has accused the High Court Judge who ordered the EC re-collation of disputed constituencies of bias and procedural errors.
The NDC application against the High Court was heard by five Supreme Court judges of Justice Gabriel Pwamang – Presiding, Justice Prof. Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu, Justice Ernest Gaewu, Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie, and Justice Adjei Frimpong.
