Controversial social media commentator, Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has taken a swipe at supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), claiming they will be haunted by the viral “Kwen Kwen” song for the next four years.
In a tweet, Bongo Ideas wrote, “They will enjoy this song for the next 4 years Masa, the ‘kwen kwen’ song dey make NPP people very sad.”
The “Kwen Kwen” song, composed by gospel artist and producer Nacee as a campaign anthem for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has gained massive traction both within and outside political circles.
The song’s catchy rhythm and critical undertones have turned it into a satirical anthem, with critics of the NPP using it to highlight frustrations with the government.
Adding fuel to the fire, a video posted on X formerly Twitter by Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu has gone viral.
In the video, Kwaku Manu is seen dramatically singing the “Kwen Kwen” song while pretending to cry, portraying the emotions of dissatisfied citizens in a humorous light.
