The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Manifesto Spokesperson on Energy, Kwadwo Nsafoa Poku, has dispelled the notion that the nation’s economic woes has caused many to be hungry.
According to him, Ghanaians are “not hungry” as he blamed people complaining of hunger as refusing to cut their coats according to their sizes.
“Ghanaians are not hungry. Who is hungry? Someone should call and complain of hunger. There is no such thing as hunger in Ghana. Someone should call that they are hngry and I will ask them why they are hungry,” he stated.
Justifying his response, he shared the story of a young man he knew at Makola.
“My uncle had 3 shops in Accra and he got a job and gave the 3 shops to his friend to manager. The guy used to buy roasted plantain and groundnut (kofi brokeman) before my uncle gave him the shops. But after he took charge of the 3 shops, he got himself 3 girlfriends and ordered Chinese take away for all 3 of them. He ate fufu 3 times daily.”
Kwadwo Nsafoa Poku claimed the youth now spend their money on pedicures and manicures weekly, with the ladies wearing wigs costing $1,500. “Our lifestyles have completely changed.”
“if you want to cook and not live a luxurious life you will not go hungry,” he stated pointing to the fact that Ghanaian youth waste money ordering food when they could be economical in so many ways.
