Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has attributed his party’s electoral loss to the NDC’s stronghold over the media landscape.
Bawumia expressed his disappointment over the election results, noting that despite the party’s extensive efforts, including visits to all 276 constituencies and strong evidence of support on the ground, the outcome was unexpected.
“There was clear evidence that we were going to win,” Bawumia said.
“We worked very hard and saw promising signs, but on the day of the election, something was amiss.
The turnout was unexpectedly low, and people were wondering what was happening.”
He praise the NPP’s communication team for their hard work, acknowledging their success in dominating social media during the campaign.
“We dominated the NDC in social media, by far. It was clear.
But we were also up against their control of key media houses, which put us at a disadvantage in terms of communication,”.
