Maleek Basintale, the Deputy Communications Officer for the NDC, has given the police 24 hours to arrest the National Vice Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Osman Masawudu accusing him of inciting chaos and mayhem with his supporters. In a tweet posted on X, Basintale stated:
“I hope you heard the gun aspect. He is the National Vice Chairman of the NPP. He is the one causing chaos and mayhem with his boys everywhere now. In 24 hours, if nothing is done about him, we shall do something about him. Best regards. Cc: IGP Dampare.”
This strong warning comes amidst tensions between the two parties, with Alhaji Osman Masawudu, the 3rd Vice Chairman of the NPP, also issuing a stark message.
In a press conference, Masawudu demanded that the police intervene, calling out the NDC for alleged violent actions against NPP members.
He warned the NDC to cease their “lawlessness” by Friday, threatening retaliation from the NPP if the actions persisted.
Masawudu, in his address, emphasized the NPP’s commitment to peace but made it clear that the party would not stand by if the violence continued.
He also highlighted the NPP’s readiness to defend itself, referencing the group’s possession of rifles and AK47s, which he claimed outnumbered those of the NDC.
