Member of Parliament (MP) for the Asante Akyem North constituency, Andy Appiah-Kubi has announced his retirement from active politics.
Appiah-Kubi, a two term parliamentarian (2016 & 2020) announced his retirement after he failed to secure a third term in parliament.
Andy Appiah-Kubi lost the Asante Akyem North seat to Independent Candidate, Ohene Kwame Frimpong.
The Independent Candidate secured a winning margin of 26,926 votes to defeat the sitting MP.
Andy Appiah Kubi of the NPP managed to poll 8,933 votes while the NDC candidate Kofi Asamoah polled 2,469 votes.
Ohene Kwame Frimpong beat them all with a wide margin by polling 35,859 votes.
