Ghanaian highlife legend, K.K Fosu has admitted that it is not uncommon for artistes to suffer one set back or the other while performing on stage.
According to him, the responsibility always lies on the artiste to salvage the situation and make the audience happy.
His comments follows an incident that took place with Ghanaian musician Fameye in London.
Highlife artist Fameye stormed off stage in frustration at the Xmas Highlife Concert held at the Dominion Center in London.
The singer expressed deep disappointment with the DJ, whose mishandling of the performance left Fameye visibly upset and the audience bewildered.
What finally broke the straws back and ultimately led Fameye to walk off the stage was when the DJ played a track of Amerado during Fameye’s performance.
According to reports, the promoter of the event refused to fly Fameye’s DJ to the show although the artiste made the request.
Speaking on the matter, K.K Fosu said, “As an artiste you need to think of a contingency approach. First what to do when these things happen. They don’t look to your DJ or bandsmen; it is you the artistes they look up to so you need to think smart.”
“It is very bad when you’re in a groove and the arraignment you want and you’re not getting it. It takes few of the talent or experienced musicians to control these things.”
K.K Fosu however did not blame Fameye for what happened, saying, “I am an artiste and I know how he feels. So, we should not put much blame on him.”
