An unknown person has reportedly vandalized the statue of President Akufo Addo as of this morning.

The statue unveiled some months ago at Effia Nkwanta in the Western Region, was met with immense outrage from the public.

The Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah explained that the statue honors the president’s initiatives in the region, the rehabilitation of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the construction of a 3-tier Sinohydro interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.

The above-mentioned project remains incomplete.

In a video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL, one of the legs of the statue was damaged.

There have been threats from some Ghanaians bring it down after the NPP lost the 2024 elections.

Meanwhile, the NDC has threatened to relocate Akufo-Addo’s statue to his family house in Kyebi.

The statue of the President, H.E Nana Akufo Addo has reportedly been vandalized by an unknown person as of this morning. The statue which was unveiled last month at Effia Nkwanta in the Western Region, was met with immense outrage from the public.
