A netizen of social media has alleged that President Akufo-Addo wants chaos to disrupt President-elect John Mahama’s swearing-in on 7 January 2025.
He noted that anyone interested in Democracy should be very worried about the President using the Electoral Commission to unleash chaos in the country.
According to the X user, the supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should stay away from the EC re-collation center.
His comments come with the Electoral Commission being directed by the Accra High Court to finalize the election results for the six constituencies.
Speaking in a self-recorded video, the unidentified man stated, “Anybody interested in the rule of law and Democracy should be very worried about the trajectory that Mr. Akufo-Addo is trying to set this country on, now Mr. Akufo-Addo is not ready to hand over power to President Mahama, that is the first thing”.
“This is why he is using the Jean Mensa and the Electoral Commission, to ensure, that they unleash chaos into this country so that by 7 January things will be out of gear and President Mahama will not be able to be sworn in, but we will not allowed that to happen”, he added.
He further added, “And so party leaders, have taken a decision that none of us should step foot at any of the so-called, illegal collation or re-collation centers of the Electoral Commission”.
Meanwhile, there is heavy security at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) Greater Accra Regional office this morning as the EC prepares to re-collate results for six outstanding constituencies of Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyir, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central constituencies.
