The Chairperson of John Mahama’s ORAL team Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has boldly stated President Akufo-Addo deceived Clergymen on the cathedral board.
According to Ablakwa, President Akufo-Addo deceived these clergymen into thinking state funds were not going to be used for the National Cathedral project.
He noted that the clergymen proceeded to deliver sermons that assured their congregation, that public funds would not be used.
Speaking on PM Express, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated, “I am convinced a lot of these clergymen were misled, they were deceived by the president to put it bluntly because, at the first board meeting, I have all the evidence they were told by the president, that public funds would not be used. Indeed, some of these reverend ministers then proceeded to deliver sermons that assured their congregation, that public funds would not be used”.
“It was later that I intercepted documents from the finance ministry that apparently the on the blindside or parliament in violation of the constitution of Ghana, public funds have been used and withdrawn by Ken Ofori Atta without the knowledge of the public”, he narrated.
Ablakwa further revealed, “Regardless of what CHRAJ is saying, this eminent clergy was misled by the president, and if you look at the resignation letters of Bishop Dag Mills, Archbishop Duncan Williams, and Reverend Eastwood Anaba they state clearly this is not what they were told”.
