US based Ghanaian Social commentator; Kevin Taylor has described President Akufo-Addo as a “toy” following his endorsement of John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s next President.
President Akufo-Addo in a three-day campaign tour of the Greater Accra region ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections asked Ghanaians to vote for the opposition, National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
“I am appealing to you to make sure that what happens here next Saturday is indeed peaceful, free and fair. So that at the end of the day on Saturday all of us will agree that ex, you know my ex, the ex is one who we have all agreed to be our next president,” he said in an address to a congregation of the Presbyterian church.
Akufo-Addo’s mentioning of “ex” has been attributed to former President Mahama, with claims the President subtly endorsed Mahama and asked Ghanaians to vote for him at the expense of his party’s own candidate.
