President-elect John Dramani Mahama has indicated that addressing Ghana’s economic challenges is his top priority.
John Mahama noted that economic challenges, including inflation and currency depreciation, have impacted many Ghanaian citizens.
Speaking to the Algerian Ambassador to Ghana, Mourad Louhaidia, when he paid a visit to his residence to congratulate him, John Mahama stated, “We are looking to focus and bring Ghana back up in terms of economic growth, in terms of stabilizing the currency, in terms of bringing down inflation. And this is the time Ghana needs to work even closer with its partners, including China”.
“So as early as possible, once we get the transition out of the way, it is our hope that we will be able to constitute a delegation to begin engaging with China on the issues of our technical cooperation”, he detailed.
John Mahama also stated that his administration would implement strategies to boost economic performance and strengthen ties with other countries.
Meanwhile, John Dramani Mahama will be officially sworn in as President of Ghana on the 7th of January 2025.
