Member of Parliament from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dickson Adomako-Kissi, has revealed that the internal turmoil within the party that contributed to its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking openly, in an interview on Channel One Tv Adomako-Kissi revealed that at one point, over 90 members of Parliament within the NPP felt that the party had lost its way.
“At a point in time, about 90 plus members of parliament within our government felt that we had lost our way.
And when we brought it up, we were taken to the cleaners.”
This moment, according to him, marked a significant turning point that led to the party’s failure.
He expressed that these MPs, who understood the pulse of the nation, recognized that despite their difficult position, the grounds were not with the party anymore.
Adomako-Kissi pointed to the issue of economic management, notably under Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, as a major point of contention.
He emphasized that when concerns were raised internally, they were largely ignored.
“That was a huge turning point,” he concluded, reflecting on the factors that led to the NPP’s colossal loss in the elections.
