The Ghana Police Service has arrested nine (9) individuals in connection with the burning of the Ayensuano office of the Electoral Commission.
According to the police, these individuals set ablaze the EC’s office in Ayensuano in the Eastern Region as part of the looting and violent destruction ongoing in some parts of the country.
The arrest of these nine (9) individuals brings to the total number of arrested persons for post – election disturbances in the country to hundred and six (106) cases.
The police in a statement mentioned that, these persons are currently undergoing due legal processes, as they are assisting the police in investigations.
The police has assured that, these individuals would be made to face justice.
They have also assured of maximum security as they are committed to protecting our communities as well as maintaining law and order.
