Beatrice Annan, a communication officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has mocked the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Reports going round on social media platform X have suggested the Electoral Commission has gazetted the results for the 2024 presidential election.
The Chairperson of Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, on December 9, 2024, two days after Ghanaians went to the polls and over 30 hours after Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia conceded defeat announced the results for the 2024 presidential elections.
The EC officially declared John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the President-elect in the 2024 general election.
According to the EC’s certified results, Mahama secured 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total valid votes cast. His closest contender, Dr. Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.
Meanwhile, a piece of new information has surfaced claiming to be the official EC gazette results in terms of percentage of the 2024 elections.
The results posted on social media claimed John Mahama of the NDC secured 57.7% while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP secured just 38.2% in the recent December polls.
Beatrice Annan wrote on X, “38% is an abysmal performance by every standard”.
