Some 19,000 members of Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change have switched camp to join Nana Kwame Bediako’s New Force Movement.
According to the group, their decision to defect to The New Force is based on the sound policies of Nana Kwame Bediako centred around the Ghanaian youth. “All his policies will ensure Ghanaian youth do not suffer. We won’t lack jobs, and we will be financially independent.”
The group also described Nana Kwame Bediako’s way of thinking and leadership style as unique as opposed to others in the presidential race.
With national development a foundational theme for The New Force’s campaign, the defectors claimed Nana Kwame Bediako’s dedication to national development is another reason for their move.
“As a group, we’re more than 19,000 persons and have decided to throw our suport behind Nana Kwame Bediako to win the presidency and get Ghana to grow and enjoy rapid development,” the group stated at a press conference.
“We have decided to move from Alan Kyerematen’s camp to come and support our brother Nana Kwame Bediako. With our support, Nana Kwame Bediako will win the elections and lead Ghana to greater heights,” the leader of the group added.
Ghana goes to the polls today, Saturday, December 7, 2024.
There are 13 political parties and independent candidates contesting for the presidential race, of which Alan Kyerematen and Nana Kwame Bediako are both independent candidates.
