Four arrested for stealing building materials from Agenda 111 project site

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended four individuals for allegedly stealing building materials designated for the construction of the Agenda 111 Hospital at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region.

The arrests, made in collaboration with community members, occurred on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

According to a statement issued on December 11, the suspects were caught after Police intercepted a Man Diesel truck, with registration number GT 8715-Z, driven by one of the suspects, Kwabena Ayamba.

Upon searching the truck, the Police discovered the building materials loaded in the truck’s bucket.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly hired by the project contractor to transport the materials to Tema.

The four suspects are currently in custody aiding investigations, while efforts are being made to locate and arrest the contractor involved.

This incident brings the total number of suspects arrested in connection with post-election disturbances to 110.
