Ace broadcast Journalist Bridget Otoo has called out the spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng over a bold claim he made.
According to Kwasi Kwarteng who is quoted by DATANOMICS, he said first-year SHS students require just GHC600 to buy items on their prospectus and not 3,500 as claimed by some Ghanaians and asked Ghanaians to stop making things up.
Reacting to the post by DATANOMICS, Bridget Otoo called Kwesi Kwarteng a liar and revealed she had raised funds for two SHS girls on X, and that the items on their prospectus were over 3500 cedis.
Bridget Otoo full post on X reads, “You are a liar. I raised for funds for two SHS girls on this app and the items were over 3500 cedis! Chop box alone is around 250, I’m sure it’s even gone up… How much is cutlass? uniforms?”
Many Ghanaian parents have constantly complained about the cost of the Free SHS policy under the Akufo-Addo government as not truly free due to the huge sums of money they have to pay for their wards’ enrolment in the various Senior high Schools across the country.
