The Five students have been accused of raping their colleague female student have admitted that they slept with the victim but did not rape her.
Appearing in court on October 31, 2024 in Nkawkaw, the accused claimed that the sexual activity was consensual.
The court presided over by his Worship Isaac Agyei has granted a bail of GHC 20,000 each to the accused with one surety.
The court also directed the victim’s parents to find a new school in Accra with accommodation as part of measures to secure her safety.
The Social Welfare Department has also been instructed by the court to do background checks on the accused students and submit a report within two weeks.
Mpraeso Senior High School in addition has been instructed to collaborate with the police and find the other three students who are currently on the run.
The court is expected to sit on the matter again in two weeks time.
