CCTV footage captured the harrowing moments leading up to the collision, showing the fuel tanker swerving out of its lane to prevent a larger catastrophe.

Unfortunately, in its attempt to regain control, it crossed into the opposite lane and rammed into the pickup truck, forcing the vehicle into the path of a nearby Hyundai Elantra.

The impact crushed the pickup and caused severe damage to the vehicles involved.

Local authorities are investigating the incident and have advised caution in the area as clean-up efforts continue.
