Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu was received with chants of boos and jeering by some of her constituents.
A video which went viral some four (4) years ago have resurfaced online as Ghana inches towards its Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
In the video which was recorded on December 7, 2020, the Minister of Communications was met with chants of ‘away…away’ when she chose to make some rounds in the constituency, as constituents expressed their dissatisfaction at her performance.
Ursula who appeared nonchalant about the boos and jeers could be seen standing out of the roof of her car akimbo and screaming back at the constituents.
Although her police escort attempted to get her back in the car, Ursula Owusu did not heed to the advice as she kept lashing back at her constituents in a harsh manner as indicative of her reactions.
In 2016, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful recorded 34,376 votes to beat the NDC’s Diana Obenewaa Twumwaa of the who polled 20,976 votes to win the Ablekuma West seat.
In 2020, Ursula managed to return the Ablekuma West seat with 37,363 votes, an increase in the previous election while the NDC’s Kweku Addo also managed 30,733 seeing a significant increase in the opposition’s numbers.
