The Presidential candidate for the All People’s Congress, Dr. Hassan Ayariga has voiced out the strong need for peace ahead of the election with much more focus on the Bawku conflict.

Dr. Ayariga stressed during the Signing of the Presidential Peace Pact that as much as the country is concerned about the peaceful nature of the elections, it will be much important if similar dialogue would be held to thoroughly discuss the continous conflict in Bawku. He expressed doubts if he could vote in the upcoming elections for himself since his hometown and place of vote has gunshots daily.

He therefore Called for a critical assessment of the bawku conflict before, during and after the elections so that some level of peace and harmony can be maintained there. He preached peace to the entire political actors and charged them to make sure their campaigns in the northern regions are words that will assure the people of a peaceful elections and not incitement of violence.

According to him it is worth noting that the The three top contenders in the elections are from the North and by that matter a historical moment. He called for the demonstration of the high level of ideas between the northern brothers in the election so that the world would know that the Northerners are idealistic people and not made for violence.

He further charged the Electoral Commission to ensure a credible , free and fair elections. He  pleaded that the security officers eschew partisan security operatives and give their best wherever they are dispatched to go and provide security before, during and after the elections. To the media he pleaded that they ensure verification of information before they publish in order to curb the widespread of misinformation and disinformation
