The Teachers and Educational Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (TEWU-TUC) has called off its industrial strike that began on Monday, November 18, 2024
The suspension follows a meeting held with the National Labour Commission (NLC) and relevant stakeholders on Wednesday, November 20.
In this regard, TEWU members are expected to resume full work by Monday, 25th November 2024
TEWU had cited prolonged delays in finalising and implementing Conditions of Service agreements for staff in the Ghana Education Service (GES), Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Public Technical Universities, and Public Universities.
But in a statement, the Union noted the stakeholders are expected to meet NLC again on Wednesday, November 27 to hear the substantive matter.
“In view of the NLC’s directive, the TEWU of TUC(Ghana) leadership initiated immediate steps to engage the structures of the Union to abide by the Commission’s orders. After the necessary consultation among the structures of the Union, regarding such matters.
