Independent presidential candidate Kofi Koranteng has stated no one should be living in Obuasi.
Kofi Koranteng asserted in 2019 when he was talking about galamsey people were saying he was kidding but today heavy metals, mercury, and arsenic are in our food and are in our water.
Speaking on GTV Ghana Presidential Encounters show, Kofi Koranteng stated, “Go to Obuasi the whole town of Obuasi, they need to take the people and leave Obuasi and resettle them somewhere else because the whole place is infected, people have rashes on their back, their food is bad, their water is bad, call anyone you know in Obuasi and ask them, you will be blown away, we should not have anybody leaving in Obuasi today”.
“So, it is not just in Obuasi because we all live on the same water, so the water in Obuasi is slipping into your food and mine food, and very soon we all be contaminated, we are all endangered spices, all of us at some point this is something we need to wake up and say enough is enough, everybody here is infected”.
Kofi Koranteng further lamented, “Our mothers go to the hospital, and they give birth on the floor when we are the number one country in terms of gold revenues in Africa, and number six in the world”.
