New poll predicts run off in election

The predictions of the December 7 elections seem to have met its new rule as a new poll has predicted a run off for John Mahama and Dr. Bawumia.

The poll conducted by Professor Smart Frimpong covered all 276 constituencies in the country with SALL inclusive. The poll which was conducted using a face to face data collection approach saw a potential turn out for the election to be around 81.4% saw both the NDC’s John Mahama and the NPP’s Dr. Bawumia all not reaching the required percentage required to be declared a President elect.

The poll saw John Mahama being edged over by Dr. Bawumia with a vote percentage of 49.1% while Mahama accrued a percentage of 45.8%. A sample size of 99,355 out of a population of 18,807, 954 from 4,272 communities were involved in the research conducted by Professor Smart Frimpong.

The results of the poll challenges various polls conducted by some outfits with the popular one being Global Info Analytics which gave John Dramani Mahama a one touch victory with a percentage over 50%.

Not only did the poll predict results for the Presidential race but also gave a projected findings into the next Parliament. The research projected a 128 seats for the NPP in Parliament with the NDC having 92 with a likelihood of a 41 seats for the NPP and 15 more seats for the NDC.
