Mpraeso SHS rape case: five students granted 20,000 cedis bail

The Nkawkaw District Court has granted 20,000 cedis bail with one surety to the five male student of Mpraeso Senior High School who allegedly raped their female colleague.

The juvenile court of the Nkawkaw District court presided over by His Worship Isaac Agyei has ordered the parents of the suspects to get a new school for the victim in Accra and additionally get her an apartment.

The suspects during their hearing admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim but denied forcing her into the act.

The judge after hearing arguments from both sides ordered the social welfare department to do a background check on the students and update the court on the next sitting day, which is in two (2) weeks.

Meanwhile the court also ordered the Ghana Police Service and the school to collaborate and arrest the three other suspects who are currently on the run or apprehend their parents
